Sweden and Denmark rule over #TeamGym2022 junior qualifications

The magnificent D’Coque sports centre in Luxembourg (LUX) warmly welcomed competitors and spectators alike on day 1 of the 14th TeamGym Europeans. Today, the junior teams competed in their qualification rounds.

Traditional TeamGym powerhouses Sweden and Denmark topped the ranking, Sweden in junior men’s and mixed team with Denmark in second while Denmark had a 1.5 gap over Sweden and its other competitors in the women’s teams. Norway claimed third place in men’s with Great Britain and Iceland also advancing to Friday’s final. In junior mixed teams, Sweden and Denmark are joined in the final by Great Britain, Norway, Iceland and Estonia.

The women’s teams’ category was most hotly contested with several teams battling for a place in the final. Denmark and Sweden are joined by Iceland, Finland, Great Britain, Norway, Italy and Austria.

The ‘Wauw’ moment of the day went to , 15-year-old Holly Barbour of Great Britain, writing history as the first junior girl to perform a triple on trampet!
