With just 4 weeks to go till the 2023 European Championships in Rhythmic Gymnastics, the 38 participating countries officially announced which gymnasts will participate.
Baku will welcome 192 senior and 124 junior gymnasts. A total of 18 senior groups are registered.
Headlining an impressive roster are reigning World all-around Champion Sofia Raffaeli (ITA), European Champion with ball and ribbon Boryana Kaleyn (BUL) and clubs World Champion Darja Varfolomeev (GER). Other big names include European and / or World medallists Stiliana Nikolova (BUL), Ekaterina Vedeneeva (SLO), Milena Baldassarri (ITA) and Adi Asya Katz (ISR).
Biggest absentee is defending European all-around Champion Daria Atamanov but making her senior debut for the Israeli team is last year’s team and ribbon junior European Champion Daniella Munits.
In the group competition, we look forward to an exciting battle between world-class teams like Italy, Bulgaria, Israel, Azerbaijan, Ukraine and Spain.
The hopes of the host nation Azerbaijan rest on the shoulders of the junior group, the World medallist senior group featuring Gullu Aghalarzade, Laman Alimuradova, Zeynab Hummatova, Kamilla Aliyeva, Yelizaveta Luzan and Darya Sorokina, while Zohra Aghamirova, Alina Gozalova and Ilona Zeynalova will defend the country’s honour in senior individual.
