Sabrina Voinea, Martina Pieratti, Anna Laschevska and Amalia Puflea crowned junior European Champions!

On the last morning of the European Championships in Women’s Artistic Gymnastics in Munich (GER), the juniors competed in their apparatus finals, battling for continental glory.

Romania got off to a flying start with Sabrina Maneca-Voinea producing two difficult vaults for the first gold medal of the day on what would prove to be a hugely successful day for the Romanian programme. As Maneca-Voinea secured the bronze on floor, EYOF silver medallist Amalia Puflea excelled on beam and floor, claiming the bronze and gold respectively.

Italy complements its medal haul with gold on bars for EYOF Champion Martina Pieratti, silver for Arianna Grillo on beam, silver and bronze for Viola Pierazzini on floor and bars respectively and July Marano on vault. Anna Lashchevska got the crowd on its feet by showing off excellent style and technique on beam. The young Ukrainian was rewarded with a well-deserved gold medal.

All-around gold medallist Helen Kevric (GER) suffered a slight foot injury causing her to withdraw from vault, beam and floor. She did compete in the bars final where she collected the silver medal.

France climbed onto the medal podium courtesy of Ming Van Eijken who vaulted to silver.
