Dear ACRO lovers
Looking back with pride on the 2023 European Age Group Competitions and European Championships in Varna (BUL), I, in name of the entire Technical Committee, want to once again congratulate all the participants for putting on such a fabulous display. Many fans from all over the world followed our livestream. Photos and videos from this event were picked up by (inter)national media outlets, giving the gymnasts well-deserved visibility. A huge thank you also goes to the Bulgarian Federation of Sports Acrobatics for their enthusiasm. Join us in reliving the action further on in this newsletter!
Hoping to build their acro community and leave a lasting legacy, the Luxembourg Gymnastics Federation is eager to organise the next edition in 2025. After a fabulous TeamGym Europeans in 2022, in the same venue, we are sure the team is ready to handle the specific needs of our discipline, and will do their utmost to create a wonderful atmosphere in the hall.
The Technical Committee continues to organise development workshops. If your Federation is interested in hosting such a workshop, don’t hesitate to contact us or the European Gymnastics office. This summer, we aim to organise our annual training camp in Kranevo (BUL) again. The provisional dates are 13 to 19 August 2024, but we need to confirm this once the dates for World Championships and World Age Group Competitions are finalised.
Hope to see you there!

For the 12th edition of the European Age Group Competitions in Acrobatic Gymnastics, Varna’s Palace of Culture and Sports welcomed over 300 gymnasts from 22 countries during 4 days of exciting competitions. Unfortunately, the Israeli delegation had to withdrew last-minute due to the attacks on their country.
The variety of countries contesting these finals and winning medals proved the abundance of talent on display, which is what we want to witness in the Age Group Competitions! We’ve put the spotlight on Switzerland, Bulgaria, Portugal, Great Britain, Ukraine and the magic of the men’s group performances.
Enjoy our highlights article!
A sunny week on the Black Sea Coast, an even sunnier week inside Varna’s Palace of Culture as Europe’s best Acrobatic gymnasts offered a marvellous 5-day show, witnessed by our mischievous mascot Luigi and thousands of people around the globe.
Hattricks were earned by the magnificent Belgian Women’s Group featuring Sofie Jaeken, Mirte Vercauteren and Lauren Verbrugghe, and Azerbaijan’s stand-out mixed pair Aghasif Rahimov and Raziya Seyidli and men’s pair Daniel Abbasov and Murad Rafiyev, showing off their great skills and execution. This year’s SmartScoring Shooting Star award went to … Alina Puhach (UKR) and Daniel Blintsov (GER)!
We couldn’t have asked for better promotion for our sport.
We’re provisionally planning to welcome you again from 13 to 19 August 2024 in the Bulgarian training centre in Kranevo for an action-packed week of high-level lectures, training sessions and social activities.
Unfortunately, this could be affected by the dates for the World Championships and the World Age Group Competitions. More information to follow soon …
We finished 2023 on another high with a judges and artistry workshop in Estonia! 16 participants, 13 from the host country and 3 from Finland, enjoyed both theoretical and practical workshops by Technical Committee members Katarzyna Majewska-Kasprzak and Amir Mozes who were on hand to educate and upskill the judges and coaches on the Artistry aspect of judging and show artistry in practice. Lots of valuable lessons learned!
And 2024 got off the a flying start too! TC members Amir Mozes and Nikolay Ivanov taught another workshop in Slovakia in January: 14 participants, 13 from Slovakia and 1 from neighbouring Czechia, gave the best of themselves as they soaked up a lot of new and detailed information.
Additional workshops are under development! Dates and locations will be posted on the European Gymnastics website.
