Jessica Gadirova (GBR) ended her first senior European Championships with a full set of medals as she clinched the floor title on the final day of competition at Basel 2021.
Earlier this week, Gadirova took silver on vault and bronze in the all-around. Melanie de Jesus dos Santos from France took the second gold medal of the day as she ended on top of the balance beam podium.
On the men’s side, Igor Radivilov (UKR) and Ferhat Arican (TUR) successfully defended their European titles on vault and parallel bars, respectively. Russia’s David Belyavskiy won the last gold medal of the day as he won gold on high bar.

De Jesus dos Santos clinches first European beam title
2019 European all-around champion Melanie de Jesus dos Santos from France has won her first European balance beam title after taking silver on the event in 2019. A good routine, including a full twisting double back dismount, scored her 13.900 points to finish ahead of 2016 Olympic champion Sanne Wevers (NED).
Wevers scored 13.866 points for a flawless routine, including a stunning pirouette series. Ukraine’s Anastasiia Bachynska, who entered the final as the second reserve following withdrawals from top-qualifier Larisa Iordache (ROU) and first reserve Marta Pihan-Kulesza (POL) took home the bronze with 13.333 points.

Radivilov defends vault title
2020 European vault champion Igor Radivilov (UKR) successfully defended his vault title in Basel after performing two strong vaults to get an average of 14.716 points.
Israel’s Andrey Medvedev took home silver (14.658), just like he did two years ago at the 2019 European Championships in Poland. 2014 Youth Olympic vault champion Giarnni Regini Moran (GBR) grabbed his first-ever senior medal at a European championships with the bronze (14.583).

Gadirova takes first European senior title
Jessica Gadirova (GBR) extended her 2021 European Championships medal tally by taking her first-ever European senior title on floor. She now has a full set of medals following after having won silver on vault and bronze in the all-around.
Gadirova, who had qualified for the final in third position, scored 13.966 points to outscore 2019 World bronze medallist Angelina Melnikova from Russia (13.900).
I am just speechless. I have already been on the podium twice and gradually getting higher and higher on the podium is just overwhelming. It’s like ‘wow, I’ve done it.’ I am just over the moon, jumping for joy.
2007 and 2014 European floor champion Vanessa Ferrari from Italy took home the bronze medal with a score of 13.600 points.
2020 European balance beam champion Larisa Iordache (ROU) had to withdraw from the final because of a kidney infection.

Arican retains European title
2020 European parallel bars champion Ferhat Arican (TUR) has retained his title following a strong routine in today’s final which received him 15.300 points.
2021 European all-around silver medallist David Belyavskiy grabbed bronze with 15.133 points. Germany’s Lukas Dauser and Switzerland’s Christian Baumann tied for bronze (15.100).

Belyavskiy tops horizontal bar
Russia’s David Belyavskiy won his first European high bar title after taking bronze in both 2016 and 2017. Belyavskiy scored 14.066 points to finish ahead of top-qualifier Andreas Toba from Germany (13.833), who took home his first individual European Championships medal.
Turkey’s Adem Asil grabbed the bronze medal with 13.766 points.
