On the first day of the 38th European Championships in Rhythmic Gymnastics, the home nation Israel impressed in the junior qualifications.
Daniela Munits, Michelle Munits, Alona Tal Franco and Lian Rona combined efforts to lead Israel to a massive victory with a score of 120.600 which provided a comfortable margin of more than 3 points! Tal Franco posted the highest score of the day, 31.900 with hoop while Lian Rona bested her competitors on clubs with 30.300. The Romanian duo Amalia Lica and Christina Dragan charmed the crowd on their way to silver. Lica’s tremendous ribbon performance was rewarded with 29.050, the top spot going into tomorrow’s apparatus finals. Bronze went to Bulgaria, represented by Elvira Krasnobaeva, the top scorer with ball, and Dara Stoyanova.
