Gold for Kinsella, Abliazin, de Jesus dos Santos, Nagornyy and Zonderland as #ECSzczecin2019 concludes

An exciting Sunday afternoon in Szczecin (POL) as the finalists battled for medals on beam and floor for the women, and vault, parallel bars and high bar for the men.
The Russian men continued in their winning mood of yesterday, adding another two continental titles to their tally. Denis Abliazin showed great control in his two difficult vaults, claiming his third European title on the event, and his second title of these Europeans!
This second medal shows that I can win, that I can fight and compete with contestants from all over the world, not just from Russia
After years of showing great potential, Israel’s Andrey Medvedev finally vaulted onto the medal podium today, securing the silver ahead of defending Champion Artur Dalaloyan who put his hands down on his second vault.
Nikita Nagornyy, who qualified in first place, excelled on parallel bars, posting an impressive 15.466. Ukraine’s Petro Pakhniuk came very close to beating that score though, earning his first ever European medal! Bronze went to another promising gymnast, Turkey’s Ferhat Arican who has his aim firmly in sight:

After winning gold on high bar in 2011 and 2014, the Flying Dutchman Epke Zonderland gave it his all in Szczecin, performing a routine with a massive 6.8 difficulty.
This was an awesome final. I had to rise above myself and I succeeded. I gave little away, just great
The reigning World Champion beat the 2017 World Champion Tin Srbic of Croatia while Artur Dalaloyan earned another medal, a bronze this time. His first medal at a major international competition on high bar!
In the women’s competition, Great Britain’s Alice Kinsella became the first British gymnast to win the European title on beam, her favourite event:
It's been a rollercoaster for me. My all-around competition didn't go to plan but I knew I had today to put that right. I was so nervous watching the rest of the girls compete and to come away with our first ever European beam medal feels absolutely amazing
France continued their success, with both Melanie de Jesus dos Santos and Lorette Charpy medalling on beam. De Jesus went on to successfully defend her European title on floor too, becoming the most decorated gymnast of these European Championships. And her goal is clear:
I hope to win a medal at the Worlds, no matter what colour. My goal will be to tickle, annoy Simone Biles! To beat her would be complicated, but I’ll do my best to be on the podium
Elegant Eythora Thorsdottir (NED) celebrated her return to competition after a tough year struggling with injury by performing her way to the silver medal. Defending European Champion Angelina Melnikova ended her Europeans in third place.
