Elena Colas, France victorious at junior Europeans

Back to the Fiera di Rimini where the juniors contested their qualification rounds. And not only that! The new junior All-Around an Team Champions were crowned, and places in the individual apparatus finals conquered.

The evening belonged to France as they put on a display to clinch the European team gold. Led by the talented Elena Colas, the French girls excelled on bars and beam, posting the top scores on those apparatuses. Sealing the deal on floor, the cheers went through the roof. First, Colas cruised to victory in the all-around. Then, teammate Maiana Prat earned the bronze medal, followed by the biggest celebration of all … France wins the junior team title!

More than 2 points ahead of the host nation who delivered the silver medallist in the all-around as well: Guilia Perotti, the 2023 junior World Champion on floor. Teammate Emma Fioravanti finished fourth, edging Great Britain’s Shantae-Eve Asiedua Amankwaah and Germany’s Madita Mayr.

Belgians Sien Ghekiere and Louise Dupont gave each other a fight in the all-around, finishing 7th an 8th. Their scores contributed massively towards Belgium’s total score of 148.662. Holding off the German girls, led by Mayr, Belgium wrote history today as they clinched the bronze! Great Britain, Switzerland, Ukraine and Romania round out the top 8.
