After winning at the 2016 Europeans, Armenia’s Harutyun Merdinyan returned to the top of the podium today as he outscored Dutchman Loran De Munck for the pommel horse title. Posting the highest difficulty, De Munck had an ever so slight form break on his way to silver, the first ever medal on pommel horse for The Netherlands! On home soil, Nils Dunkel impressed his countrymen, taking the bronze over France’s Benjamin Osberger.

He’s back!
In his first competition since the Tokyo Olympic Games, Lord of the Rings Eleftherios Petrounias made it clear that he’s back in top shape. The Greek superstar looked calm and composed as he aimed to overtake Adem Asil’s score to beat of 15.033. And he did exactly that, going a tenth higher for his 6th European title on this apparatus. Something that’s never been done before. Last up, Courtney Tulloch (GBR) squeezed by Vahagn Davtyan (ARM) and Vinzenz Hoeck (AUT) for the bronze medal.

Jake Jarman (GBR) impressed with great height and technique to clinch the gold over Armenia’s Artur Davtyan who makes the most difficult vaults look easy. On their heels, Igor Radivilov (UKR) showed courage and dedication as he struggles with the complications caused by the war in his country.
