The ladies of the Bulgarian group were on fire in Baku, claiming all three gold medals with a comfortable margin over rivals Italy, Belarus and Azerbaijan. Bulgaria, host of the upcoming Rhythmic Europeans, enjoyed success in the individual competition as well with Boryana Kaleyn winning the ribbon final and earning silver in the all-around behind Daria Trubnikova (RUS) and clubs and bronze with ball. Teammate Katrin Taseva placed third with ribbon.
Reigning European Champion Linoy Ashram (ISR) clinched two titles, with hoop and clubs, while Italy’s Alexandra Agiurgiuculese was victorious with ball ahead of all-around winner Trubnikova. Russia’s 2019 junior World Champion Lala Kramarenko won silver with hoop and bronze in the all-around and with clubs.
With just one Olympic qualifying World Cup event to go, Slovenia’s Ekaterina Vedeneeva secures her ticket to Tokyo! Uzbekistan’s Sabina Tashkenbaeva grabs the second ticket, while the third and final ticket will be decided at the end of the month in Pesaro (ITA). The main contenders are Fanni Pigniczki (HUN) and Andreea Verdes (ROU).
