The junior boys took to the stage today at the iconic Olympiahalle in Munich (GER). Competing over 3 subdivisions, places in Sunday’s apparatus finals were sought after, with the team and all-around medals also up for grabs!
Highlighted by a superb floor exercise and vault, Hungary’s Botond Molnar cruised to victory in the all-around. His total score of 79.964 marked an advantage of almost a full point over Spain’s Daniel Carrion Caro who excelled on vault and parallel bars. Reuben Ward (GBR) secured the bronze medal thanks to a wonderful pommel horse exercise and vault, to hold off the Swiss challenge of Matteo Guibellini who edges recently crowned EYOF Champion Radomyr Stelmakh (UKR) by just 0.002.
In the team competition, Italy set the standard in subdivision 1. With a total score of 237.395 they truly challenge their rivals to rise above themselves. A fierce battle ensued. The French boys came the closest but couldn’t bridge the gap while the Brits finished right on their heels. Gold for Tommaso Brugnami, Davide Oppizzio, Diego Vazzola, Riccardo Villa and Jacopo Zuliani!
