Decisions of the Executive Committee - September 2023

From 21 to 23 September 2023, the Executive Committee of European Gymnastics met in Malta for the third meeting of this year.

Led by President Farid Gayibov (AZE), the debates have resulted in the following official decisions and information:

  • As Aerobic Step at the upcoming 2023 Aerobics Europeans will feature 5 participants, this competition will be held in qualifications only, with medals awarded on this basis.
  • The 2025 European Championships in Acrobatic Gymnastics have been awarded to Luxembourg (LUX). The European Age Group competitions will be held from 10 – 13 April 2025, followed by the European Championships from 16 to 20 April 2025. 
  • The work on the European Gymnastics Strategy continued in this meeting with the working groups discussing their strategic measures. The overall strategic plan will be presented at the Congress.
  • European Gymnastics follows FIG’s decision to change the age of RG junior age to 14 – 15. The Technical regulations will be updated and published shortly.
  • The rules for Golden Age Gym Festival 2024 were updated and guidelines for Head of Delegations at GfA events approved. These will be published shortly.
  • The Honorary members guidelines have been updated and will be published shortly.
  • A call for hosts is open for the following European Gymnastics events: 2025 European Championships in Aerobic Gymnastics, 2026 European Championships in Men’s and Women’s Artistic, Rhythmic and Trampoline Gymnastics, 2026 European Gym for Life Challenge and EUROGYM, 2026 Golden Age Gymnastics Festival, 2026 TeamGym Europeans and the 2027 European Championships in Rhythmic Gymnastics.

The next Executive Committee meeting will be held on the eve of the Congress in Sofia (BUL) on 30 November 2023.
